Sweet Snacks for Dogs

I don’t know about any other dog owner out there but there is just something so wonderful about feeding your dog a treat.  They look up at you patiently anxiously, waiting for a sweet snack.   But there are so many options to choose from, you can buy them milk bones, jerky treats, normal biscuits, there are raw hides, and pig ears and large bones.  I like to spoil my dog by giving him the ham bone during holidays, and occasionally a spoon full of peanut butter.  These treats are all fine and some owners, maybe yourself give their dogs human food, like ice creams and cookies.   Unfortunately it’s not the most healthy thing to feed your dog all of these artificial sweeteners. so today I’m going to divulge to you a quick recipe for doggy cookies that are safe and moderately healthy for your dogs.  (The recipe wont have preservatives and other chemicals that are used in most store bough cookies.

First thing you want to do is pre heat your oven to 300 degrees F

You need:

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour (OR 1 cup all purpose flour)
  • 3/4 cup milk powder
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 3/4 vegetable oil
  • 2 cubes beef or chicken bouillon cube
  • 3/4 cup boiling water(for dissolving the cube
  • 2 table spoon brown sugar

Instructions:

Dissolve the bouillon cube in the boiling water and let it cool.  Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl and separate the dough out into 1/4 inch thick shaped. ( you can cut them out with any normal cookie cutter.  Pop them into the oven for 30 minutes and let cool.  Then feed that   sweet treat to your dog!
